Here's a good example of why we should avoid placing our subjects in direct sunlight; in the shade of a tree, we get great skin tones, and beautiful eyes - if this girl had been standing in the sun, her eyes would be all scrunched up and squinting because of the sun shining in her eyes. Always look for shade whenever possible, for people pictures, unless we have a reason to put people in the sunlight.
